THE ONES WHO RIDE
The Ones Who Ride is a study in contrast Between where we come from and where we feel most free.
Rooted in personal memories and grounded in the living culture of Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club, the collection explores movement across worlds.
I grew up across from a horse stable. One day before school, I looked out the window and saw horses running free through the morning fog.
I thought I was still dreaming.
I always thought freedom looked like that -open land, quiet, space. But I ended up finding it somewhere else. In the city.
I found horses again. Not in fields, but on Fletcher Street. Not where I expected but still exactly as they are.
Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a non-profit in Philadelphia that seeks to preserve the city's history of Urban Black Cowboys and empowers youth through horsemanship.
A donation ahead the sales from our collaboration was made to FSURC.
